Explore our core collection of high-efficiency AC, DC, and custom synchronous electric motors designed to replace legacy industrial drivetrains seamlessly.
Replacing an existing electric motor is rarely as simple as ordering an off-the-shelf model. Dimensional differences, electrical parameters, and specialized environmental challenges demand an experienced engineering partner.
For over six decades, Xi’an Lite SIMO Motor Co., Ltd. has established itself as the preeminent name in custom retrofitting and replacing large-scale, high-voltage/low-voltage AC, DC, and synchronous motors. We understand that mechanical footprints, shaft diameters, keyway configurations, center heights, and electrical characteristics must align precisely to prevent expensive downtime and restructuring costs.
Whether you are replacing an inefficient 1970s slip-ring motor in a remote copper mine, upgrading a massive high-voltage pump motor at a municipal utility, or retrofitting explosion-proof systems in chemical facilities, SIMO provides custom-designed, optimized direct-fit replacements. We manufacture drop-in solutions that map exactly to your legacy mountings while delivering state-of-the-art IE4/IE5 efficiencies, advanced insulation classes, and IoT thermal monitoring.
Xi’an Lite SIMO Motor has pioneered heavy mechanical manufacturing since 1955. Browse our developmental journey and strategic transformation.
SIMO Motor was established under national industrial oversight, laying the groundwork for heavy mechanical manufacturing in Northwest China.
Following a sequence of strategic acquisitions, mergers, and state integration, the business was officially renamed Xi'an Motor Factory.
Transitioned from a traditional state-owned factory into a highly responsive, modern, and agile limited company.
Established SIMO Motor Group with 14 operating subsidiaries, moving production to a state-of-the-art, high-tech engineering campus.
Formally adjusted the corporate identity to Tech Full Simo Motor, aligning with advanced engineering and digital technology paradigms.
Operating as an industry leader with a massive registered capital of 21.5 million RMB and 3 advanced manufacturing hubs spanning a wide global footprint.
Industrial procurement managers facing motor replacement decisions must balance upfront CAPEX with long-term reliability and compliance. SIMO leverages China's industrial ecosystem to optimize the cost-to-performance ratio for every custom machine built.
Vertically Integrated Production: SIMO operates a self-contained manufacturing chain that encompasses initial mechanical styling, raw casting, mold fabrication, complex CNC machining, automatic stator winding, VPI insulation impregnation, and rigorous full-load dynamic testing. This vertical integration keeps external lead times short and maintains strict quality control.
Advanced Material Sourcing: By directly sourcing low-loss silicon steel sheets, high-purity oxygen-free copper wires, and rugged cast-iron shells, our factory optimizes electrical performance. This allows us to achieve superior power densities that easily fit legacy mounting spaces.
High-Capacity Facility Layout: Utilizing over 1,172 sets of high-precision heavy manufacturing equipment, our engineering team executes high-volume standard runs alongside specialized custom retrofitting projects concurrently.
Equipped with vacuum pressure impregnation (VPI) equipment, heavy CNC machining centers, and 25MW dynamic test stations.
Over 260 technical engineers customize frame measurements, shaft designs, and electrical characteristics to fit your existing structure.
SIMO maintains an expansive portfolio of 34 distinct motor series, covering 1,800 varieties and over 19,500 individual specifications ranging from 0.35kW to 25,000kW.

High-hazard and heavy-duty industries require verified compliance. SIMO's manufacturing facilities are certified under the ISO 9001 quality management framework, ensuring that each step of custom design and manufacturing is fully documented and traceable.
To support seamless global exports, our motor designs are certified by major international bodies: CE (European Union), UL (United States), and GOST (Eurasian Customs Union / Russia). Our explosion-proof series conform to ATEX, IECEx, and CNEX safety specifications, ensuring secure operation in volatile environments.

SIMO designs rugged replacements to solve specific engineering and operational challenges across key heavy industries.
Replacing high-torque slip-ring (wound rotor) motors in copper and iron ore mills requires precise coordination. Our custom TDMK and YR series deliver high starting torque and thermal durability to withstand dusty, high-vibration mining environments.
Water utilities upgrading municipal intake pumps to IE4/IE5 standards face strict space limitations. SIMO design engineers build drop-in vertical and horizontal medium-voltage motors that match existing concrete pedestals and piping alignments, eliminating foundation modifications.
Safety is the primary consideration in gas compression and refining. When replacing flameproof motors, our YBX5 and YBK3 series provide certified explosion protection. We offer customized terminal boxes, auxiliary PT100 sensors, and anti-condensation heaters configured to hazardous site layouts.
Electrification networks require stable traction power. SIMO supplies specialized custom auxiliary motors, converters, and blowers configured to meet strict high-voltage tolerances and railway shock-loading safety standards.
Metal rolling applications demand high thermal reserves and rapid dynamic speed control. We design drop-in Z4 series DC motors and high-performance AC VFD-driven replacements that handle frequent overloads and high ambient heat.
Induced draft (ID) and forced draft (FD) fans require reliable continuous duty. SIMO’s YKK and YXKK high-voltage motors feature IP54/IP55 weather protection, low starting current requirements, and tailored rotor dynamics to prevent system vibration.
The industrial electric motor industry is undergoing a transition driven by efficiency mandates, decarbonization goals, and smart automation.
Critical engineering answers to guide your procurement, retrofitting, and custom electric motor projects.
To build a drop-in replacement, SIMO's engineering team requires three main sets of measurements: (1) Frame dimensions, including the center height (H), shaft extension dimensions (length, diameter, keyway depth/width), and the mounting foot hole spacing (A and B dimensions). (2) Conduit box orientation, terminal layout, and cable entry directions. (3) Drive details, such as direct coupling, belt, or gear connection configurations, to ensure the replacement fits your layout without modification.
Legacy slip-ring (wound rotor) motors require external rotor resistance starters. To replace them, SIMO offers custom high-starting-torque squirrel-cage induction motors or custom wound-rotor models (YR, YRKK, YRKS). If transitioning to a squirrel-cage configuration, we match the speed-torque curves and current limits of the original setup. This often includes VFD speed control to mimic the soft-starting features of the legacy wound-rotor motor.
Operating an AC motor at low speeds under constant torque restricts the cooling capability of shaft-mounted fans, leading to heat buildup. SIMO's YVFE3, YVFE4, and YVFE5 variable frequency motors address this with independent, auxiliary-powered cooling blowers. These blowers provide constant air flow regardless of motor operating speed, protecting winding insulation from thermal degradation.
SIMO manufactures explosion-proof motors (such as the YBX3, YBX5, and YBK3 series) for Class I Div 1 / Div 2 and Zone 1 / Zone 2 environments. We hold domestic CNEX certificates along with international CE-ATEX, IECEx, and GOST certifications. Our designs feature flameproof enclosures, reinforced seals, dust-ignition-proof protection, and internal thermal limit sensors to keep surface temperatures below ignition levels for target gas groups (e.g., Ex d IIC T4 Gb).
Depending on operational load profiles, running hours, and regional utility rates, upgrading from older standard efficiency motors to IE4 or IE5 ultra-premium efficiency models typically cuts energy consumption by 3% to 8%. For heavy continuous duty machines (like 250kW+ pumps running 24/7), the energy savings can cover the purchase cost of the new motor in 12 to 24 months.
